When do Revision Classes Begin?

Revision classes run at the end of the course in November and May. The classes last for two weeks, and they include exam based questions, practice papers, and techniques that will help you in exam preparation.

What are the routes into accountancy training?

To register for the ACCA Qualification you will need a minimum of three GCSE’s and two A Levels (or equivalent) in five different subjects including English and Maths. If you do not meet these requirements you can register onto the accounting technician (CAT) qualification. You then have the option to progress into the ACCA qualification to become a fully qualified accountant.

What do I need to do to qualify?

Both CAT and the ACCA qualification are a combination of exams and practical accountancy experience. For CAT you will need to sit nine exams and complete one year’s work experience. For the ACCA qualification you will need to sit 14 exams, undertake three years’ work experience and complete an ethics module.

Do I have to be good at maths to work in finance?

You need to be numerate but not a maths genius – accountants use computers to do a lot of their calculations.

Are there any subjects I need to take at GCSE’s & A-Levels?

You must have an English and Maths GCSE or equivalent. Most employers are more concerned by your personal profile and academic record rather than two subjects you study. However some employers do have a preference for Maths A-Level.

Do I need a degree?

You don’t need a degree although many employers offer specific training for graduates. If you want a degree but don’t want to go to university you can gain a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting through the ACCA qualification.

Would I get any exam exemptions for other qualifications?

Some qualifications, like a relevant degree, entitle you to exemptions from ACCA exams. This means you will start your studies at the appropriate level and avoid studying subjects that you already know.

To apply for one of our traineeships, please send/email your CV and cover letter, saying why you would like to join the programme and what you hope to get out of it.

Email the course administrator at, [email protected]

If you have any queries please call 0208 709 2085 or 07891 835 377.

How much will the Traineeship Cost?

As these traineeships are not Government funded, there is a cost of £1,000 which can be paid in instalments to spread the cost. The cost will cover tuition fees for 3 subjects, job coaching, employability training, and administration of the programme. This is a very good package comparative to most training providers.

What is a Traineeship Programme and is it for me?

A Traineeship is a unique careers programme for people keen on starting a career in accounting and bookkeeping with quality work placements. If you are looking to embark on a career in accounting but have little or no experience this Traineeship will make all the difference; by providing practical experience you will be able to find a career in your chosen field.

If you have been unsuccessfully applying for jobs in accounting and bookkeeping then this traineeship will be a step in the right direction. Or, if you have foreign qualifications and experience but little or no UK experience, the traineeship will give you those UK qualifications and experiences required to reach your expectations, while providing you with a cultural exchange of UK office skills, business ethics and professional behaviours.

When do the Traineeships Begin?

Traineeships have start dates throughout the year. Once applications have been received and reviewed, candidates will have an interview, and start dates of work placements lasting 8 – 12 weeks will be confirmed to successful candidates. Go to the section on Traineeships on our website for the next start dates.

Will I get paid for the Work Placements provided during my Training?

Work placements are voluntary and therefore unpaid. However, we work very hard with our links to recruitment agents and employers to secure you permanent work by the time your traineeship is finished.
